January 29, 1948 - July 25, 2022

Frank R. Beckous, age 74, of Smyrna, DE, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 25, 2022, surrounded by loved ones after a difficult battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Frank was born on January 29, 1948, to Frank and Gertrude Beckous (née Fuchs) in Chicago, Illinois. In 1968, Frank married his one and only true love and best friend, Marilynne. Frank was a sergeant in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam war.

Frank was a fair man who was a loving, honest, and caring husband and father. He was a Bible believing follower of Jesus. Frank and Marilynne have four children and eight grandchildren who Frank loved dearly, and who he was very proud of.

Frank retired from W. L. Gore in 2010. While retired, Frank had time to travel with Marilynne, fish with his sons, and spend time with his children and grandchildren. Frank was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He was proud to have lived to see the Chicago Cubs win their first World Series Championship in 108 years, in 2016.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gertrude; and grandson, Shawn. He is survived by his wife, Marilynne Beckous (née Cooksley); sons, Frank (Jaime), Daniel (Christina), and Nathan; daughter, Laura; grandchildren, Becca, Zach, Joshua, Elijah, Emma, Amelia, Ronan, and Isaac; and siblings, Bonnie Jean, Harry, Barbie, Mark, and Beth.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 12:30 pm. Entombment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
