  • My deepest sympathy to Jeanette, Girls and Judy. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and your families. I have known Freddie and the Sowers Family since I was a very small girl. Our dad’s were hunting partners. They could sure tell some tales. My fondest memory of Fred was when we we were very little. Us kids were upstairs in Jackie and Fred’s bedroom and we were making a ruckus and having a good time. Its was Jackie, Fred, Holly, myself and my sister. Fred’s younger siblings were just toddlers. But we started jumping on the beds and I guess the beds were moving on the floor making such a loud noise, like we were moving furniture or something, that our dad’s hollered up the steps, we better keep it down or they were coming up after us. It was such a good memory. Rest in Peace Fred. You are flying with the angels now.

  • GOD has welcomed a great man home. I only knew Fred for the last few years, but felt like I have known him for many years. I knew him as a fellow Chapter 83 Vietnam Veterans of America, and a GREAT Marine and Vietnam Veteran. Last year Fred came with me, Bobby Baldwin and Rock Graves, all members of Chapter 83 and Vietnam Veterans, to Concord High School for our 34th annual presentation of Chapter 83’s Vietnam Veteran’s Experience and Today’s Society. The couple of hundred students enjoyed Fred’s telling of some of his experiences in the Vietnam War. Fred was also enrolled in Elkton Vet Center’s program to learn to play guitar. Fred was eager to learn to play guitar and was enjoying each lesson till he got to ill to travel. I will miss Fred very much and will always think of him as a brother! May God love him as much as we are sad to not have him in our lives. Rick Lovekin
