Gerald A. “Gerry” Roehm

Gerald A. “Gerry” Roehm, age 77, of Bear, DE, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on March 30, 1943, he was a son of the late Carl L. and Dorothy (Roser) Roehm. Gerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He worked as a tractor trailer operator for Yellow Freight for 20 years before retiring. Gerry loved the outdoors; in addition to his love for camping and going to the beach, he also he spent many hours tending to his garden. An avid football and baseball fan, he loved cheering on his beloved Phillies and Eagles. In his spare time, Gerry enjoyed tinkering with cars.

In addition to his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by his brother, P. Jeffrey Roehm; and stepdaughters, Anne Lester and Maria Grier. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jane (Cookenmaster) Roehm; children, Diana Nichols (Gerald) of New York and Ted Roehm (Jennifer) of New Castle; stepchildren, Robert Grier (Janet) of Bear, Debra Baumes (John) of Lynchburg, SC and Jennifer Grier of Wilmington; and grandchildren, Alex Smith and Lilyana and Sophia Roehm.

All services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerry’s memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Processing Center, P.O. Box 863765, Orlando, FL 32886.
