Gerald Maurice “Jerry” Knott, Sr., age 57, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on August 19, 1963, he was a son of Helen F. (Howell) Knott of Wilmington and the late Earl C. Knott, Sr. Jerry was a graduate of William Penn High School, and co-captain of the school’s football team. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve and made his career as a security guard. Jerry was a skilled handyman who could fix anything. He took pleasure in listening to music and surfing the web.

In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by daughter, Tiesha Mary Knott and his siblings, Earl Knott, Jr., Diane Collins, Owens Howell, and Cedric Knott. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Gerald M. Knott, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; siblings, Mary Knott-Ellis of Newark, Carol Jefferson of Bear, Donald Knott of Wilmington, and Anthony Knott of New Castle; aunt, Yvonne Brooks of Wilmington; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Service and interment will be held privately.
