Gerald W. Williams

August 2, 1936 - March 26, 2026

It is with great sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Gerald W. Williams, who left us peacefully for the Lord, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE, at the age of 89.

Born on August 2, 1936 in Summit Hill, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Walter N. Williams and Catherine E. Williams; he was a devoted husband to his wife, Nancy A. Williams for 66 years; a wonderful father to his children, Timothy D. Williams, Gerald W. Williams, Karen L. McCaffery, and Scott R. Williams; a grandfather of 9 and a great-grandfather of 9; and survived by his sister, Beverly Orledge-Tridente; and brother, Walter Williams; as well many other relatives.

Gerald graduated from Shippensburg College with a Bachelor of Science in Education, becoming a teacher in Pennsylvania before moving to Delaware to continue his career until retiring. It was also in Pennsylvania that he was introduced to his wife-to-be, Nancy, by his sister, Beverly and a wedding and family soon followed, creating many happy memories along the way. Gerald also served his country in the U.S. Navy in both active duty and reserves until retiring after 31 years as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. After retirement Gerald and Nancy moved to the Poconos in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania where they shared many happy years.

Gerald will always be remembered for his love and support of his family and friends; his joy of hunting, fishing and his membership in the Rockport Hunting Club; his hard work and dedication to helping those around him.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to help support Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or online by clicking here, as appreciation for their support at home and at their facility.
