Geraldine R. McCloskey

Geraldine R. McCloskey, age 82, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Christiana Hospital with her loving brother by her side.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 4, 1939, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Constance V. (Vila) McCloskey. Geraldine graduated from Hallahan High School. She worked as a computer analyst for the federal government for 36 years, until her retirement. Geraldine was a beautiful soul who touched many lives, loved animals, and was always there to help those in need.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her loving husband, John P. McCloskey; siblings, Constance McCloskey of Sterling, VA and James McCloskey of Herndon, VA; and granddaughter, Jillian Scarangelli. She is survived by brother, Ronald McCloskey (Bernadette) of Philadelphia, PA; stepchildren, Jack McCloskey (Becky) of TN, Daniel McCloskey (Joann) of PA, and Helen Scarangelli (Daniel) of NJ; grandchildren, Daniel, Brian, and Christina McCloskey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Holy Family R.C. Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. Interment will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 South Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
