Grace H. Davis, age 101, of North East, MD, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

Born in Millington, MD on November 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Elsie (Everett) Cummerford. Grace worked as a waitress at the Post House for 20 years until her retirement in 1995.

In her spare time, Grace enjoyed going to the track to watch the horse races. She loved listening to country music and often looked forward to going out to dinner. For the last 19 years, Grace enjoyed living with her granddaughter, Karen Johnson and her husband, Scott.

In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ray Davis; son, Evan Davis; grandson, Michael King; and great-granddaughter, Ashley King. She is survived by her children, Mildred Chinski, Mary Lou Shafer (Dave), Teddy Davis, Linda King, Sherry Diamond (Nick), and David Davis; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
