Haydon June Travers
February 10, 2009 - October 9, 2025
With hearts full of sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of Haydon June Travers, age 16, of Wilmington, Delaware, who entered into her eternal rest on Thursday, October 9, 2025, surrounded by love after a brave and beautiful battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
Born on February 10, 2009, to Scott and Heather Travers, Haydon was a radiant light from the very beginning. She was a proud “girly girl” who adored pink, always had a fresh manicure, and filled her days with sparkle and sweetness. She loved singing along to Taylor Swift, getting lost in the magic of Disney Descendants, and immersing herself in the world of Harry Potter.
Haydon found joy in the simple things: snuggling at home with her mom and dad, going to the movies, and spending cherished time with her cousins. She faced every challenge SMA brought with grace, courage, and a heart full of love. She truly was an SMA warrior who lived boldly and beautifully.
Most of all, Haydon had a deep faith in Jesus Christ. It is in that faith that we now find comfort, knowing she has received her final and eternal healing, and is free, whole, and resting in the arms of her Savior.
She is survived by her loving parents, Scott and Heather Travers, and by countless family members and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and light. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, who now welcome her into eternity.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the incredible teams who supported Haydon throughout her journey – especially the Bayada Nurses, the Nemours PICU, Respiratory Therapy, and all of her devoted caregivers who not only provided expert care but also showered Haydon with genuine love and compassion.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 pm until 5 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a celebration of Haydon’s life will begin at 5 pm. Guests are warmly encouraged to wear something purple or pink in honor of Haydon’s joyful spirit.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Nemours Children’s Hospital, Shands House, 1600 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803 or online by clicking here, whose care helped carry her through many difficult moments.
Haydon’s life was a gift to all who knew her. Though her time here was short, her impact is lasting. She will be remembered always for her strength, her smile, and her limitless love.
