James C. “Jim” Walker

James C. “Jim” Walker, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

Born in Wilmington, DE on June 4, 1945, he was a son of the late John and Jane Walker. Jim graduated from De La Warr High School in 1964. He served as a member of the Delaware Army National Guard from 1964–1970. For most of his life Jim worked as a boiler repairman for Potts Welding and Boiler Repair and Apex Mechanical and Fabrication.

Jim loved fishing, hunting, traveling, and gardening. He especially loved growing all kinds of tomatoes in his garden. Above all, his family brought him the most joy.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine; daughter, Beth McKay (Rob); son, Matthew Walker; granddaughters who he adored, Lily and Maggie McKay; in-laws, Allen and Kathy Fitz, and Earl and Carole Jaques; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Funeral service and interment will be held privately.
