James David “Jim” Lee
October 19, 1945 - March 5, 2025
James David “Jim” Lee, age 79, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Born in Portland, ME on October 19, 1945, he was a son of the late Richard H. and Barbara F. (Bailey) Lee.
A graduate of Cheverus High School in Portland, ME, Jim continued his education at Northeastern University, where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. He then began a successful career, initially working for DuPont, followed by positions at Allied Signal and Honeywell. Eventually, Jim founded his own business, Benchmark, where he continued his professional endeavors.
Outside of work, he was a passionate golfer and cherished the time spent with his grand and great-grandchildren. Jim was an avid sports fan, particularly devoted to the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan. Jim is survived by his daughter, Michele Logan (Kenneth); step-son, John Piccolomini; grandchildren, Alex Piccolomini Kotowski (Brandon), Michael, Andrew, and Melanie Krutz, David, Brian, and Danielle Piccolomini, and Christopher Scorziello; sisters, Sharon Noyes (Charles), Martha Croteau (Link), and Cindy Fletcher (Don); and brother, Patrick Lee (Sharon).
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
