Janet L. Kemp, age 57, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware on July 24, 1966, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Kemp. Janet worked as product release operator at VelTec in Newark.
In her spare time, Janet enjoyed going to gas and steam engine shows, cheering on her Philadelphia Phillies attending Indian pow wows and craft making, Janet also enjoyed going out to listen to live music and dance, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Janet gave the ultimate gift of life this holiday season though the Gift of Life Organ Donation Program which will enable many to have a better quality of life.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Margaret Kemp. She is survived by her siblings, Jim Kemp of Elkton, MD, Becky Wetherall and her husband Ken of Milford, Phyllis Adams and her husband Ron of Bear, Steven Kemp of New Castle, and Bill Kemp and his wife Karen of Hartly; stepdaughter, Kathy Bien of Newark and her children Collin and Conner Bien, both of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.Janet shared her home with her beloved dog, Boo-Boo.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Spicer-MullikinFuneral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin 11 am. Interment will be held in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

Janet was about 5 years old when we moved to Appleby Road. I will always remember her as a nice, quiet girl. I loved all the kids my boys grew up with on Appleby Road. Very fond memories of the over20 years we lived there. Prayers for all of Janet’s family.
