Jean M. Snyder

Jean M. Snyder, age 97, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Born in Delaware on October 24, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Velma P. (Snively) Miller, Sr. Jean was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the class of 1946. She dedicated her life to caring for her family as a homemaker.
Jean was an avid baker. She loved making breads, sweet rolls, and different pies. She also had many interests in life, including ceramics, playing the organ, and being very active in the church. Jean served in many capacities for the First Baptist Church of Holloway Terrace. In her waning year, Jean was cared for by Donna Kogut, whom Jean thought highly of.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Snyder, Sr.; her brothers and sister, Charles E. Miller Jr, Doris G. Bowers, and Richard Miller. She is survived by her sons, Robert L. Snyder, Jr. (Becky) of New Castle and Raymond C. Snyder (Susie) of Wilmington; grandchildren: Jeffery R. (Elizabeth), Robert L. III (Laura), Nicholas C. (Christine), Brandon M. (Lisa), Brian C, and Richard R.; as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE.
Following burial, there will be a luncheon at the Holloway Terrace Volunteer Fire Company, 700 West Avenue, Holloway Terrace.

Bob and Jean were an amazing couple. Very supportive of their church, First Baptist Church of Holloway Terrace. I loved visiting with them both and just talking/laughing for hours. Both had a heart of gold.
I’m happy Jean is back in the arms of her loving husband. May they both look down and be proud of their sons and many grandchildren and great grandchildren! My heart goes out to their extended family 💙
