Jennifer “Jen” Fletcher
Jennifer “Jen” Fletcher, 53, of Middletown, Delaware, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Wilmington Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Newark, Delaware, Jen spent most of her career in banking, most recently with Citibank. But what people remember most is the way she made them feel. Jen loved to laugh, and she was the sunshine in everyone’s day.
She was happiest on a softball field, volunteering with Best Buddies, and spending time with her “Framily,” the large, loyal group of friends she loved so dearly. Among them was her best friend, Heather Quinn, with whom Jen shared family, vacations, laughter, and life’s most meaningful moments. Heather and her family held a special place in Jen’s heart and were an important part of her life.
To many, Jen was lovingly known as “Mama Jen” the person they turned to for a listening ear, a hug, or advice when they needed it. She took great pride in sharing her love, compassion, and life experience with the many people who looked to her as family.
Jen is survived by her parents, David and Susan Fletcher of Newark, Delaware; her sister, Lisa Markiewicz, and her husband, Frank, of Middletown, Delaware; her brother, Randall Fletcher, and his wife, Amanda Richardson, of San Francisco, California; her nieces and nephews, Kathryn Dilley and her husband Vincent Dilley, Frankie Markiewicz, Jackson Markiewicz, Blake-Anne Fletcher, William Fletcher and great niece Juliana Dilley.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, Delaware, where a celebration of life will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to continue celebrating Jen’s life at Sully’s Pub in Middletown, a place she knew and loved. All are welcome to join us in raising a glass in Jen’s honor, sharing stories, and remembering the laughter, friendships, and countless memories she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jen’s memory to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition Inc., 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 209, Wilmington, DE 19801 or online by clicking here; or the Food Bank of Delaware, Attention: Development Department, 222 Lake Drive, Newark, DE 19702 or online by clicking here.

Always hard to see the passing of someone of the same age. Jen and I were classmates from possibly elementary, but definitely middle through high school. A wonderful spirit and bubbly personality. She will truly be missed.

On behalf of work colleagues at Citi and for those located in San Antonio, TX, know that Jen was such a presence to many of us and it was always such a joy to work with her. In the toughest of challenges, even then did she confront them with a smile and “we can do this” demeanor. She is dearly missed and our prayers are with her closest friends and family during this difficult time.

Jen,
You were the shining light and glue within the “Framily” that I was so privileged to have been pulled into during my time in Delaware. During those brief couple of years, you made me feel welcome and included, and I will always cherish the moments that we had together on the softball field and being social with our entire group of friends. You are a truly special soul, and I will miss you dearly.
With love,
Michele

My dear, I am going to miss you so much. ❤️ I will miss your energy, your presence, and our days at the gym. I will especially miss your facial expressions during Body Balance when we couldn’t quite keep our balance, would look at each other, and burst out laughing. Those are the special moments I will always cherish.
My heartfelt condolences to your family. You and your loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 🙏🏽❤️

Jen was truly one of the kindest, most fun-loving people, and I feel so lucky to have shared so many fun memories together on the softball field. She always knew how to have a good time and brought so much fun wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by so many.

I can still hear your laugh. You’ll always be in my heart. Our team name said it all about you, “Sassy Classy!” But I’ll never forget how happy you were to line-dance. It was an honor knowing you, Jen. Rest in peace my old friend.
Love you always. Yo
