February 13, 1978 - December 23, 2024

Jennifer Morgan “Jen” Way, age 46, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE on February 13, 1978, she was the daughter of George Winfred and Kathryn (Johnson) Way, Jr. Jen was a graduate of St. Marks High School, where she was recognized as an All-State soccer player. She then earned her degree at Wilmington University and continued to play soccer while in college. Jen followed in her mother’s footsteps making her career as a social worker. She took immense pride in helping others in any way that she could.

Jen was an avid runner and proudly competed in ten marathons, four of which were the Boston Marathon. She loved going to the University of Delaware football games and spent her Sundays in the fall cheering on the Baltimore Ravens. Jen always looked forward to beach trips during the summer with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Jen is survived by her brother, Tripp Way (Gina) and their children, Trevor and Madelyn; aunt and uncle, Ron and Sylvia Sink; Kevin Russo; several dear friends; and her beloved 4-legged friends, Kenzie and Teddy.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 11 am on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Red Clay Presbyterian Church, 500 McKennans Church Road, Wilmington, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately in All Saints Cemetery.

  • I am so sorry to hear that Jen’s life was taken so soon. I was honored to be asked to sing at her funeral. After hearing her brother Tripp share stories of her life singing “On Eagles wings” was one of the hardest things to do without crying. I’m glad I was able to share the songs message with her loved ones in the memory of this kind and caring person and the life she led. Rest in Peace and Joy Jen as you continue the journey of your soul.

  • Our deepest Condolences to the entire family. May she rest in Peace.
