Jeremy P. Jones, Sr.
May 23, 1979 - January 1, 2021
Jeremy P. Jones, Sr., age 41, of New Castle, DE, departed this life on January 1, 2021 at his residence.
Born on May 23, 1979 in Newark, DE, he was the son of Joann and Stephen Jones. Jeremy worked as an electrician for a couple years, then due to his need to be daring, he switched occupations. Jeremy made a living hanging billboards over Interstate 95 and working at the Port of Wilmington.
His hobbies included riding motorcycles, fishing, playing video games with his son, eating mouthwatering food, and spending time with his family and friends. Jeremy placed his family above all, cherishing his mom and son most. He had a heart of gold, and would take the shirt off of his back for anyone in need.
Jeremy was a dare devil and the life of the party. He had a smile and a contagious laugh that would light up any room. Jeremy always looked handsome with his sunglasses on, ironed white t-shirt and his fresh Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. He left a mark on everyone he came in contact with. There will never be another “Jerm”.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ethel and James “Bud” Bowers; paternal grandparents, Rhem “R.T.” and Leona Jones; and his faithful sidekick, Sasha, who will welcome him with open arms. He will be survived and missed by his parents, Joann and Stephen Jones; son, Jeremy Jones, Jr.; former wife and friend, Heather Jones; aunts, Claire Ward (Johnny), Janis Murray (Tom), Susan Martin, and Lynne Laskin (Norman); uncle, Rhem Jones, Jr. (Rose); cousins, Jamie Johnson (Daniel), Billy Gallucci (Linda), Rachael Zito (Devin), Glenn Laskin (Heather), Steve Laskin (Melissa), and Andrea, Brian, Roddy Jones, Jr. and many other cousins; other faithful companion, Jasper; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Though Jeremy will be missed, he will always be in our hearts.
A visitation will be held from 1 pm until 3 pm on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Service and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeremy’s memory to the Go Fund Me page for his family by clicking here.

Man I’m so saddened to hear of your passing. Growing up together in Hillside you were a best friend and like a younger brother to me. The endless days, nights of playing basketball, football, neighborhood hide and seek, etc. The times we drove around with your mom in the Suzuki Samurai with the music blaring. The countless miles we put on our BMX bikes through the neighborhood and Gallagher trials. So many great memories with you. Eventually our lives went in different directions but we always managed to catch up and check on one another through the years. I’m glad we got a chance to talk about 6 months ago for the last time.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. Proverbs 17:17
‘Peace Out’ for now my friend and see you again someday
