John Clark Quigley
October 9, 1945 - December 6, 2023
John Clark Quigley, age 78, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 9, 1945, he was the son of the late John Clair and Mildred (Clark) Quigley. John was a graduate of De La Warr High School and later the University of Delaware. He was drafted into the United States Navy during the Vietnam era where he served 2 years, and once home he served another 2 years in the Navy Reserves. John began working as a surveyor for the State of Delaware and later went to the DuPont Co. as a lab technician. John later found his passion working as a Delaware State Trooper where he served in many capacities. Following his retirement, he began working as a Corporate Risk Manager for Strawbridge & Clothier. John then opened Quigley Investigative Services, and later worked in risk management for Target and Bank of America. John will always be remembered for his strong work ethic.
John is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Audrey Peterman Quigley; son, David Quigley (Michelle); siblings, Patricia Ericson (David) and Linda Arena (John); son-in-law, Joseph Kuhn (Pamela); grandchildren, Zachary Kuhn (Krystal) and Victoria Kuhn (Christopher); 2 nieces; 2 nephews; and many dear friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 4 pm on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Monday, December 11, 2023, at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE. A committal service will begin at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
