John Emile “Johnny” Walther, Sr.

John Emile “Johnny” Walther, Sr., age 66, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020.

Born in Wilmington, DE on November 20, 1953, he was a son of Emile John Walther, Jr. and the late Marian (McKee) Walther. Johnny proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as an ironworker for Local 451 for 23 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley. He enjoyed working in his shop and had a passion for fixing anything, Johnny was one who could never sit still and loved life to its fullest.

In addition to his mother Jane, Johnny was preceded in death by his daughter, Samantha Ann Walther. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Kimberly Jo (Halling) Walther; father, Sonny; children, Tammy Merlino (Chris) and John Emile Walther, Jr. (Isabelle); step children, Bret Halling and Shannon McIntyre (Ron); siblings, James Walther (Tracy), Larry Walther (Pam) and Barbie Walther; 5 grandchildren; and 4 step grandchildren.

All services will be held privately.
