John Lee, age 68, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on October 2, 1954, he was the son of the late Walter and Redith Marie (Davis) Lee. John made his career as an assemblyman for Chrysler Corp. in Newark until his retirement.

John enjoyed spending his free time in nature, he could often be found fishing or visiting Banning Park. He also loved listening to country music, watching westerns, and taking trips to Gettysburg, PA.

John is survived by his loving wife, Joan E. (Lambert) Lee; stepson, Shane Ellis; and step granddaughter, Kaylie Ellis.

All services will be held privately.

  • I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr Lee. I would always say he was the nicest patient I ever met, and I was not lying! Such a sweet and mild-tempered man. He was always a pleasure to work with and even just to speak to when during his short time at Churchman Village. His family is in my prayers at this difficult time.
