John Richard Bell, Jr.

John Richard Bell, Jr., age 71, of Townsend, DE, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Born in Crisfield, MD on January 23, 1953, he was a son of the late John Richard Bell, Sr. and Winnie Faye (Swift) Bell. John was a graduate of Andover High School in Lithicum, MD. Following graduation, he went to work at NSA and then worked for various IT companies including BNY Mellon.

John was a loving and kind man who always welcomed friends and family into his home. He treasured family and friends gathering around the kitchen table in prayer, in fellowship and in laughter. He was an active member of his church, the Good Shepherd Baptist Church. He brought faith, strength and laughter into the lives of all he met. His life was blessed with a wonderful wife and son who filled his days with love. He was their anchor in a storm, their sunshine through the clouds. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him especially by his loving wife and devoted son.

John is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jomelyn Caresia (Bulasa) Bell; son, Jonathan Bell; siblings, Clarence J. Bell (Helen) and Linda F. Murphy (Edward); aunts, Betty W. Boyd and Hazel Swift; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and his church family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2274 Porter Road, Bear, DE 19701, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.
