John William “Bill” Greenfield

Mr. John William Bill Greenfield, age 77, of Newark, DE, died on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Christiana Hospital. Born in Coatesville, PA, on April 24, 1933, son of the late Carmen (Detterline) and Amos Greenfield, Mr. Greenfield had been employed in professional sales with the NVF Corporation and later Franklin Fiber until his retirement. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan throughout his life, and, in more recent years, looked forward to attending Wilmington Blue Rocks games. Mr. Greenfield also enjoyed gardening around his home, taking trips to the beach, watching favorite programs on the Food Network, traveling, and, most especially, spending time with his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Barbara A. McMichael Greenfield; son, Jeffrey Alan Greenfield of Newark, DE; son, Jon David Greenfield and wife, Midge, of Newark, DE; and grandchildren, Tyler and Megan. A funeral service will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 1700 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE, where visitation will begin at 5 pm.
