John William Stephens

John William Stephens, age 91, of Clayton, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Born in Marietta, OH on November 29, 1933, he was a son of the late Frazier Grant Stephens and Edith Pearl Wosson. John worked as a tool and die maker. In 2003, he became an ordained minister at Community Christian Church in Harrington, and most recently was a member at Real Life Community Church in Middletown. John had a passion for teaching and sharing the WORD of GOD. John was a wealth of knowledge of vehicles. He could tell you the make and model of just about any vehicle.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wives, Helen and Sarah; and two sons, William “Billy” Terry Stephens and Michael Henry Stephens and three siblings, Betty Perry, Kenneth Scafe, and Jerry Scafe. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth V. (Moore) Woerner-Stephens; children, Barbara Jean Stephens, William Terry Stephens, Larry John Stephens, Linda May Stephens-Fowkes, Michael Henry Stephens, Tina Loise Stephens-Lynsinski, Kelly Joe Stephens-Allen, and Tracy Jean Stephens; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.
