Jonathan L. “Jon” Plumback
September 17, 1969 - December 22, 2023
Jonathan L. “Jon” Plumback, age 54, of Wilmington, DE, succumbed to complications related to his battle with cancer on December 22, 2023, at the Christiana Care AccentCare Hospice wing at Wilmington Hospital.
Born in Tokyo, Japan on September 17, 1969, he was a son of Anna McCartney. Jon loved driving and working on Mustangs as well as riding his motorcycle. He was a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, loved playing pool, and joking around with friends and family.
Jon is eternally grateful for his salvation in Jesus Christ and credits this relationship with being key in restoring his relationships with his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Jon’s restoration story was further supported by his old friend John “Pic” and friends at the Oxford House, the Celebrate Recovery Program at Catalyst Community Church and the supportive church family there, along with his faithful family. Just as many people invested in Jon’s restoration story, Jon paid it forward by reaching out to anyone God placed in his path to help them get on a path of restoration and recovery.
Jon was preceded in death by his grandson, Jackson Lennon. He is survived by his mother, Anna McCartney (Buce Keller); loving wife of 38 years, Maryellen Rowe; daughter, Kaylynn Rowe (Joshua Lennon); son, Andrew Rowe; granddaughter, Aurora; brother, Christopher Plumback (Vickie).
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 10 am on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Catalyst Community Church, 410 Denver Road, Newport, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, 1000 W. Ridge Road, Linwood, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jon’s name to Oxford House, 1010 Wayne Ave, Ste 300, Silver Spring, MD 20910, or online by clicking here.
