Joseph E. “Joey” Anderson, age 54, of Bear, DE, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, DE on February 15, 1969, he was a son of Barry and Irma (Leonard) Anderson. Joey was a graduate of Saint Mark’s High School and captain of the wrestling team. He was an avid gardener, carpenter, and fisherman. Joey contributed many trade skills in his families remodeling business. He was an expert landscaper who took pride and perfection in his work. Joey was devoted to the Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary often. He gave of himself unselfishly to a fault. He will be missed and loved greatly by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joey is survived by his children, Alec and Rielly Anderson; and three brothers, Barry, Christopher, and Matthew Anderson.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

The family requests prayers or rosary to be offered in Joey’s memory.
