Joseph Roland “Joe” Parag

Joseph Roland “Joe” Parag, age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

Born in Delaware on January 31, 1944, he was a son of the late Joseph Parag and Julia (Hitchens) Wilkinson. Joe was an air conditioning mechanic at Chrysler where he dedicated almost 40 years before his retirement.  He was a proud Mason at Masonic Lodge #27.  Joe enjoyed golfing and loved watching his favorite football team the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Parag; sister, Diane Pierce; and grandson, Ronnie Parag. He is survived by his son, Joe Parag II and his wife, Christine and their 3 children; his daughter, Amy Erickson and her husband, Mark and her 2 children; Jeffrey Parag and his wife, Brooke and their 4 children; and longtime companion, Cindy Jamison.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Pkwy, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
