Joyce A. Stanton, age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Born in Ridley Park, PA, on November 12, 1942, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Ruth (Harden) Tomlinson. Joyce worked as a specialist for PNC Bank, retiring after 35 years.

Joyce loved music, drawing, writing, being at the beach, cooking and baking especially for her family and friends.  She most especially found joy in being with her family and usually could be found on any one of her daughters’ front porches with a glass of wine in her hand.   Joyce was a sister, aunt, mother, Mom-Mom, and friend.  She will be missed and in our hearts every day.  

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her siblings, Jack Tomlinson, Bill Tomlinson, and Abigail Adams, as well as her niece, Karen Dutton. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Riale (Ron), Susan D. Bastin (David), and Barbara Ann Patton (Thomas, Jr.); twin sister, Joan Meehan; brother, Steve Tomlinson (Rose); grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Julian, and Kelly (Alex); great-granddaughter, Willow; step-grandchildren, Jimmy (Jennifer), T.J., Tyrus (Jessica); several step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. Entombment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
