Joyce Elaine Oliver, age 74, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Born in Wilmington, DE on November 11, 1948, she was a daughter of the late William Oliver and Jane Hurd. Joyce was a graduate of William Penn High School. She loved to cook and enjoyed working at several food establishments, most recently at Delaware Park.
Joyce could often be found cheering on her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers or going for a walk. In her spare time, she liked to listen to music and meet her friends out for lunch. Joyce loved animals and enjoyed collecting teddy bears.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, William Oliver and Jane Hurd. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Oliver; granddaughter, Amaya Farley; great-grandchildren, Nylah, X’Ariyah, and X’Aiden; sister, Judy Vernon; and cousins who were like her siblings, Barbara and Robert Stevens.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 12 pm. Interment will be held privately.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs Oliver. I worked with her briefly at churchman village as one of her therapists. She was always a pleasure to work with and be around. May you find peace in your cherished memories and from the “God of all comfort” at this time.-2 Corinthians 1:3,4. Hang in there Barbara and Bobby!
