Judith A. “Judy” Reynolds

Judith A. “Judy” Reynolds, of St. Georges, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Delaware City, DE, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. Armstrong, Sr. and Florence E. (Pasquino) Armstrong. Judy was in the first graduating class from Gunning Bedford High School. After graduation, she attended the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse in 1964. Judy had a selfless gift for comforting others. Her 40-year career began at the Memorial Hospital in Wilmington until she retired from Christiana Care in Newark.

Judy could often be found travelling with the ladies of Menopause Manor and loved spending time with her family at the beach. She was a Sunday school teacher for the First Presbyterian Church in Delaware City and was active in the St. Georges Historical Society. Most of all Judy loved being a “Tu-Tu” to her 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Charles C. Armstrong, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gene Reynolds, Jr.; children, Gene Reynolds III (Kym), Lori Hitchens (Charlie), and Scott Reynolds (Denise); grandchildren, Kyle Hitchens (Jess), Jared Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds (Scarlet), Bailey Reynolds, and Molly Reynolds; and great-granddaughters, Elena and Kensington.

A beach-casual graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 15, 2023, in Delaware City Cemetery, 528 West Clinton Street, Delaware City, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s memory to the Evergreen Center, ATTN: Brooke Groff, 4000 Nexus Drive, Suite W2, Wilmington, DE 19803.
