Judith A. “Judy” Reynolds
Judith A. “Judy” Reynolds, of St. Georges, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Delaware City, DE, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. Armstrong, Sr. and Florence E. (Pasquino) Armstrong. Judy was in the first graduating class from Gunning Bedford High School. After graduation, she attended the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse in 1964. Judy had a selfless gift for comforting others. Her 40-year career began at the Memorial Hospital in Wilmington until she retired from Christiana Care in Newark.
Judy could often be found travelling with the ladies of Menopause Manor and loved spending time with her family at the beach. She was a Sunday school teacher for the First Presbyterian Church in Delaware City and was active in the St. Georges Historical Society. Most of all Judy loved being a “Tu-Tu” to her 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Charles C. Armstrong, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gene Reynolds, Jr.; children, Gene Reynolds III (Kym), Lori Hitchens (Charlie), and Scott Reynolds (Denise); grandchildren, Kyle Hitchens (Jess), Jared Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds (Scarlet), Bailey Reynolds, and Molly Reynolds; and great-granddaughters, Elena and Kensington.
A beach-casual graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 15, 2023, in Delaware City Cemetery, 528 West Clinton Street, Delaware City, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s memory to the Evergreen Center, ATTN: Brooke Groff, 4000 Nexus Drive, Suite W2, Wilmington, DE 19803.

What can I say about this beautiful lady? Other than my own mother, Cousin Judy was one of the sweetest people that I have ever known. She had such a warm thoughtful heart, and was so faithful to her Card ministry during her time serving the First Presbyterian Church of Delaware City. Her life here was a sweet fragrance and she is now heaven’s gain. Dan and I will truly miss her.

I am thank full for having Miss Judy as a neighbor and friend. After retiring, Judy started to enjoy her back yard and made time to enjoy The Humming birds. Cox Neck Road will never be the Same.

This is a beautiful picture and captures Judy’s quiet yet enthusiastic manner. She and my mother shared many walks in St.Georges. My sympathy to family. Many fond memories or our one block town. Your Mom was always so sweet. May she rest in peace. Brenda
