Judith A. Lafferty (Judy)

Judith A. Lafferty (Judy), age 85, of Selbyville, DE, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Born in Pottstown, PA on April 3, 1940, she was a daughter of the late George and Thelma (Overdorf) Sterner. Judy made her career as a nurse’s aide for the state of Pennsylvania until her retirement.

Judy could often be found watching TV. She especially loved crime dramas and soap operas, or cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies. She also enjoyed participating in family game nights. Most of all, Judy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Lafferty; and brother, Robert Sterner. She is survived by her children, David A. Lafferty (Gail) of Schnecksville, PA, Jeffrey S. Lafferty (Roxanne) of Pottstown, PA, Daniel J. Lafferty (Stephanie) of Pottstown, PA, and James R. Lafferty (Elizabeth Yoder) of Pottstown, PA; grandchildren, Jeffrey Lafferty, Scott Lafferty, Matthew Lafferty, Ashley Edelson, Jacob Lafferty, Abigail Bartlett, Angela Lafferty, and Joshua Lafferty; great-grandchildren, Addison, Emma, McKayla, Bryson, Kendall, and Walter; and siblings, Barbara Briest of Pottstown, PA and John Sterner of Riverview, FL.

All services will be held privately.
