Julie Pamela Nastoga
November 17, 1959 - November 19, 2023
Julie Pamela Nastoga, age 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 19, 2023, after a brief battle with lung cancer and a broken heart- losing her husband Jerry Nastoga just a few weeks prior.
She was born November 17, 1959, in Dover, Delaware, to the late Gerald P. and Shirley D. McCann, their third child of seven; younger brother Jay P. McCann preceded her in death. Julie resided in New Castle, Delaware, spending most of her life in the surrounding area. She had a deep passion for helping others- especially the elderly population. This led her to Delaware Technical and Community College to continue her studies as a CNA.
She enjoyed bingo, sewing, fishing, and playing with her Boxers- Dora and Jax in her spare time. Julie loved to travel, especially on family vacations primarily spent camping or at the beach surrounded by children and grandchildren. She had a knack for making the simplest of things silly and exciting. Julie’s home was often a place of comfort for anyone requiring extra love or a place to lay their head. She loved creating memories with her family and never missed an opportunity to show up for them. You could find her on the sideline cheering them on at sporting and life events.
In addition to her husband, parents, and brother, Julie was preceded in death by niece, Alissa Shinault and nephew, Jimmy McCann. She is survived by her siblings, Gerald P. McCann (Nancy), Joy P. McNally (Jack), James P. McCann, Gayle P. Shinault, and Ginger P. McCann; children, John McCann (Jaymie), Jennifer Dugan (Jeffrey), Emily White, Robert White, Katie Robinson (Joseph), and Nicholas Nastoga; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren- with two on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Chippey AUM Church, 4272 Mill Creek Road, Hockessin, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie’s name to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Avenue, Suite 1100 N, Bethesda, MD 20814, or online by clicking here.

Ginger,
I’m so sorry for your loss! You’ve been in my prayers since before the loss of your dad; and now this, your brother-in-law and sister, so close together.
I pray God’s comfort for their children, you, your siblings, and the rest of your family; and that God will draw all of you close to Him at this time.
