Karen Mary Sokorai, age 60, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 17, 1965, she was the daughter of the late John and Verde (Brewer) McGann, Sr. Karen worked at Einstein Healthcare Network for 16 years before beginning her career in education. She was an educator at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School as well as A.D. Harrington Elementary School for 2 years.

Karen had a passion for traveling and enjoyed to explore new places. She had a worldwide network of family and friends who she loved dearly.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Stephen L. Sokorai; brother, John McGann (Jen); stepdaughters, Jacqueline and Michelle; grandchildren, Danny, Vanessa, Christa, Samantha, and Joseph; niece and nephews, Dr. Madison Ian, Riley McGann, Bill Hess, and Andy.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 12 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Reach Church, 2880 Summit Bridge Road, Bear, DE 19701, where a celebration of life will begin at 12 pm. Inurnment was held at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE in the Cross Cremation Garden, Section C.
