November 12, 1958 - December 31, 2020

Karen T. Lattanzio, age 62, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 31, 2020.

Born in Wilmington, DE on November 12, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Pietro and Joan (Morano) DalGesso. Karen was an assistant Girl Scout leader for Troop 835, where she received the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Green Angel Award. She was a loyal member of the Claymore Senior Center since 2015. Karen loved doing crafts in her early years, and most recently took up the art of painting rocks. She shared in this bonding hobby with her sisters, which led them to placing their unique rocks throughout Delaware for others to enjoy.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Samuel Lattanzio, Sr.; mother-in-law, Dorothy Lattanzio; and brother-in-law, Thomas Santa Barbara, Sr. She is survived by her devoted husband, Samuel A. Lattanzio, Jr.; children, William Lattanzio I (Sonya) and Samantha Lattanzio; sisters, Tina Paxson (Eric Sharp) and Maria Santa Barbara; grandchildren, William Lattanzio II, Aren Sapp and Nathan Sapp; sisters-in-law, Missy Harrison (Bub) and Gina Whiteman (Danny); and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance.
