  • I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy back in the 80s when we were fortunate enough to be placed in the same building to teach sixth grade. I always enjoyed working together as we shared our love for teaching, talking about our children, and of course, our Polish Heritage! Our friendship grew even stronger when we were assigned to teach just the subject math, to both of our delight. It was then, that I realized how Kathy helped me to grow as a teacher. We literally met every Friday after school to write lesson plans together to make sure we were on the same page when addressing the concerns of district goals in Math. This was all before these meetings became mandatory years later. We even began a Math Olympiad Club for our advanced math students who were willing to stay after school to participate in practices for the monthly contests. She never minded going above and beyond for her students not because it was her job, but her passion. Unfortunately, her career ended earlier than she had hoped, but our friendship continued on. She will be truly missed, but I believe that she is in a better place now. May you Rest in Peace dear friend. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

  • My memories of Katherine are endless. She was like my big sister…she played paper dolls with me, we trucked to the beach on the train in the summers and ice skated in the
winters. She used to use the phone in my house because she didn’t have one…I remember knocking on the wall to let her know when she had a call.
She took me to frat parties with Peter.
Katherine was a beautiful bride…I danced at her wedding.
She invited me for weekend getaways when I was in college. We loved cats.
Her and Peter loved the New York Times crossword puzzles. We visited each other when I lived across the country and our kids played together.
She was godmother to one of my daughters..
    and so much more.
We always kept in touch. We enjoyed reminiscing. I will miss that.
    She was an extraordinary woman.
May she rest in peace and watch over us.
