Katherine Marian (Rupert) Sudduth

Katherine Marian (Rupert) Sudduth, age 95, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 23, 2025.

Born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania on April 17, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Harold B. and Katherine (Kitzmiller) Rupert. Katherine had a meaningful career as an RN before retiring, working for Christiana Care and Havre de Grace Hospital.

In her spare time, Katherine could be found reading a good book or working in her garden. She loved being active in her faith and taking part of her church’s activities. Above anything else, Katherine treasured caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her brothers, Trooper Harold Rupert and Garrison James Rupert and grandson, Eric Leftridge. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Sudduth, Deborah Bates and Rebecca Mink; grandchildren, Lauren Slater, Jennifer Kettelkamp, Leia Dypsky, Christoper Bates, Ryan Bates, Samuel Mink and Simeon Mink; 6 great-grandchildren; along with multiple nieces, nephews and church friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 308 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, 525 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE.
