Kevin Douglas Naumann - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Kevin Douglas Naumann

November 30, 1979 - May 15, 2026

Kevin Douglas Naumann, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 15, 2026. Known affectionately to family and friends as “Kev” or “Pork Chop,” he was a lifelong resident of Newark, DE, having grown up and remained in Chestnut Hill Estates.

Kev was born in Wilmington, DE, on November 30, 1979, son of the late Harman C. Naumann Sr. and Bertha May (Norris) Naumann. He spent his career in the food service industry, bringing his hard work and personality’s (grumpy Kevin or Teddy Bear Kevin) to various restaurants over the years, including Jake’s Hamburgers, Five Guys, and Nick and Joe’s. For the past 15 years, Kevin found his true work family with the High 5 Hospitality Group. He was a familiar, welcoming face at Buffalo Wild Wings at both the Christiana and Newark locations, before moving to Eggspectations in Christiana when they opened and where he remained until his death.

Following in his family’s community service footsteps, Kevin joined the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company in January 2000, as a volunteer firefighter. He was a 1999 graduate of Christiana High School, where he played football, carrying on a passion for the sport that began in local youth leagues. Kevin was a passionate, lifelong fan of Philadelphia sports, proudly collecting Eagles memorabilia and always cheering on the Phillies, Flyers, and 76ers.

Kev was also an animal lover and a devoted dog dad. His coworkers fondly share stories of him safely ushering displaced animals and wildlife out of traffic. His compassion was best personified by his rescue of a young dog, Goku, whom Kev found in the Eggspecations parking lot in the middle of August and immediately adopted once his owner could not be located.

Above all, Kev will be remembered for his fierce love and devotion to his mother, Bertha May. He lived at home, becoming a constant companion, protector, driver, handyman, and a dedicated caregiver in her later years, until her passing in September 2022.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved dogs, Sandy and Black. He is survived by his siblings, Harman Naumann Jr. (Lisa) and Kelly Bailey; his niece and nephews, Zachary Naumann (Olivia), Allison Schindler (Luke), and Aidan Bailey; and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Emma Andersen; his lifelong best friends, Ryan and Phil; his “work wife,” Brittany: and his two remaining dogs, Panda and Goku, who have been lovingly adopted by Emma.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, at the Aetna Station 8 Hall in Newark, DE (time to be announced at a later date). This date was chosen to honor Kevin’s tradition of hosting an annual family and friends BBQ every last Saturday in July for over 20 years. His cremains will be interred during a private ceremony with his parents at Silverbrook Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kevin’s memory to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 165 Airport Road, New Castle, DE 19720 by clicking here; or the Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder Company Fund Drive, P.O. Box 148, Newark, DE 19715 or online by clicking here.
