Kristopher “Kris” Goodwin
May 29, 1979 - December 19, 2019
Kristopher “Kris” Goodwin, born on May 29, 1979, passed away suddenly on December 19, 2019. Born and raised in Delaware, Kris was the son of Elisha Goodwin and the late Vicki Goodwin, as well as Joyce Goodwin. He made his career in many different trades but was happiest when he was building things with his hands.
Kris was always willing to help anyone in need, regardless of the time or whatever project you needed done. He loved painting, restoring old projects, cooking, teaching his younger family members how to do new things, and being outdoors, especially while working.
Kris was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki; grandfather, Ray “Blackie”; and nephew, John Johnson. He is survived by his father, Elisha; step-mother, Joyce; grandmother, Virginia “Jenny”; aunts, Terry and Patty; uncles, Ray Blackburn, Jr. and Sonny; sister, Melissa Goodwin Shelton; children, Victoria, Amber, Andrew, Ke’von and Chloe; niece, Hailie Sheinhartz; nephew, Frank Sawyer; and many other extended family and friends.
Services and interment for Kristopher will be private.

To my son, We often did not agree on things and on the selections that you made in your life. Son, I am hurting so bad right now that I think my heart is going to break. I am going to steal a saying from a great man and someone we have had the pleasure of knowing for many years and who said it when your mom passed. You have left your earthly body, but your heavenly spirit is all around us. Thank you Peter Scobell. I know you are sitting with your mom and you will listen to her once again.(would not want to be in your shoes my son )But I know that you are being taken care of. Say Hi to your mom,Pop-Pop Blackburn Uncle Bobby and anyone else that I have missed. I am sure that I have missed someone, but am writing this through tear filled eyes. Until me meet again, I love you so very much.

Dear Kris,
I miss you so much. I thought you would always be there, and we would be driving each other crazy till the end of time. Your passing was so sudden, it all seems like a bad joke. Especially, due to the fact that our relationship was on the mend n we were getting closer again. It’s hard not to be selfish and want you here, but I am happy for you because I know you are in a better place. Little things I will always remember, like the feeling of your go-t rubbing on my face when hugged us, or listening to u play the drums, or watching you chase the kids around, the delicious food you would cook, even the gorgeous painting you did. You were so talented and so caring. Your children are all so devastated by this, but I promise to do my best to take care of them for you. I’d appreciate a little help from heaven, help me watch over them, and rest in peace my love.
