Larry Wayne Newman

Larry Wayne Newman, age 77, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Born in Bluefield, WV on July 1, 1947, he was a son of the late Edward and Mae V. (Jones) Newman. Larry was a graduate of Newark High School with the class of 1965. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He made his career as a machinist at DuPont Co. for over forty years until his retirement. In his younger years, Larry could often be found hunting and fishing. More recently, he could be found at home spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Cole) Newman; and siblings, Homer “Jimmy” Newman (Pattie), Shirley MacDonald (Bob), and Tootsie Davis (Frank). He is survived by his sons, Larry E. Newman and John Newman (Nicole); grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, and Julianne; and niece and nephews, Elwood Powlus and Sherry Powlus-Philhower.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
