Laura C. “Laurie” Dietrich

Laura C. “Laurie” Dietrich, age 70, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Born in Scranton, PA, on October 10, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Melba (Rozelle) Capwell. Laurie was a graduate of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania where she earned her degrees in Mathematics/Secondary Education and Computer Science. She began her career as a math teacher at Tunkhannock Area School District in Pennsylvania. Laurie then worked at Unisys as a systems assurance project manager before starting her career as a PC consultant at Springhouse Education and Consulting Services for 16 years. She later worked as a business analyst at Wyeth/Pfizer and retired from Immaculata University as an administrative systems liaison in 2017.
Devoted to her faith, Laurie was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Downingtown, PA. In her spare time, she enjoyed working on puzzles and visiting Longwood Gardens. Laurie could often be found in the kitchen cooking for her loved ones. Most of all, she cherished the memories she made with her family and friends, especially her grandson.
Laurie is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert J. Dietrich; children, Shawn Dietrich (Stephanie) and Jennifer Shotto (Gregory); grandson, Connor Shotto; and brothers, Gary Capwell and Thomas Capwell.
All services will be held privately.
