Lena (Richardson) Williams
February 21, 1939 - November 28, 2025
With great sadness, we announce the passing of a great gift from God, Mrs. Lena (Richardson) Williams, on Friday, November 28, 2025. A God-fearing woman, and a devoted spouse and mother to her husband and children.
Lena was born on February 21, 1939 to the honorable Josh Richardson and Ethel Lou (Wilson) Richardson. Mom attended school in Spaulding County, Georgia, later completing her education in Philadelphia, PA. She married the love of her life, Thomas E. Williams, Jr. and together they raised their seven children.
Lena was able to travel the world and see places many just dream of visiting, like South Korea, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, and places throughout the United States. Her favorite place being England. Lena was an absolute joy to be around, her affectionate personality, her love for all people was always on display. She was a very giving person, if you needed and she had it, she would give out of the kindness of her heart. Mrs. Williams carried an anointing of joy with her. No situation was too heavy; she enjoyed life to the fullest knowing God is in control. Her words could light up a room, if you cross her wrongly, she would say in a humorous way, “I’m putting you on my hit list”!
She will be remembered for her loving nature, wise guidance and the impact she had on each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren lives as well as, the lives of friends and families throughout her travels and life. Mom will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you Mom but we remember the things you taught us and find comfort in knowing that you are with the Lord. I look forward to seeing you again.
Amen to a life well lived.
In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Williams, Jr.; son, Henry; siblings, Fannie Flemister, Ruby J. Foster, Johnny Richardson, Robert Richardson, Ella Green, Shirley Walker, and Eugene Richardson. She is survived by her children, Jerry, Ray, James, Deloris, Oscar and Mark; daughters-in-law, Ronnie, Janet, and Trena; son-in-law, Ronald; siblings, George Richardson, Betty Evans, Frances Phillips, and Martha Lewis of Georgia; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 10 am on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 10 am. A committal service will begin at 11:15 am on Friday, December 26, 2025, in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD.

Oh wow! Gonna miss my auntie but she got all the great memories of her stored in the memory bank. I remember nothing but laughter and big smiles of her. I remember all the great Christmases that she visited us on. Her and my uncle Tommy, Mark, James and Janice would bring joy and cheer during the holiday season. . I really miss those days. Until we meet again I will forever Love and miss you.

Grandma Lena, thank you for all the good times, conversations, and memories. Boy, did we have ourselves a time! I never told you I don’t like speaking on the phone, but you always knew, you got me. After about 10 or 15 minutes, you always told me you loved me and that you would talk to me next time, knowing you would spend hours talking on the phone with others who did like speaking on the phone. Although you will be missed, I will always love you.
