Leonard M. “Lenny” Beatson, Sr.

Leonard M. “Lenny” Beatson, Sr., age 55, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, surrounded by his family and friends.

Born in Wilmington, DE on July 19, 1966, he was a son of Dolores P. (Kreska) Beatson and the late George L. Beatson. Lenny worked as an iron worker for various companies over the years. An avid outdoorsman, he spent countless hours hunting, fishing, shooting, and crabbing. When he wasn’t outside, Lenny could often be found spending time at “the office” with his close friends. He recently moved to Fairview, NC in the mountains, where he met many new friends and loved it there.

In addition to his father, Lenny was preceded in death by his brothers, Greg Weber and Jerry Beatson. He is survived by his children, Megan K. Beatson and Lenny M. Beatson, Jr. (Meghan); grandchildren, Madison, Thomas, Fallon, and Emme; siblings, Jonathon Beatson (Melinda), Susan Strab (James), Patricia Boon (James), and Edward Beatson (Karen); sister-in-law, Susan Weber; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 3 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. Interment will be held privately.
