Liliane Moortgat-Burke

Liliane Moortgat-Burke, age 66, passed away while in hospice at Christiana Hospital, on Monday, February 8, 2021.

Born in Mortsel, Belgium, she was the daughter of Maria Moortgat-Pelckmans and the late Jos Moortgat. Liliane loved her family, Belgium, traveling and beaches.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Paul Vanderstraeten and brother, Luc. Liliane is survived by her husband, William J. Burke III; son, William Johan Burke IV of Bear and sister, Marina Moortgat of Edegem, Belgium.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, followed by a prayer service at 8 pm. Face masks will be required for all in attendance. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Liliane’s memory to Season’s Hospice and Palliative Care, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713.
