Lisa Louise Thompson, age 69, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, after her courageous battle with uterine cancer.

Born in Wilmington, DE on December 30, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Frank T. and Filomena Angela (Vasso) Cerminaro. Lisa graduated from Wilmington High School and soon after got married and started a family. She loved being a homemaker and raising her children. Later, Lisa met the love of her life, James Thompson, and together they lived a wonderful life. She worked at various places before going to the Colonial School District as a manager of Child Nutrition Services. Lisa dedicated 20 years with the district then retired to be a full time Mom-Mom.

Lisa enjoyed visits to the beach with her family and friends. She loved to travel up and down the East Coast to watch Bud at his motorcross races. More importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Cerminaro, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, James E. Thompson; children, Jimmy Bursler, Jr. (Melissa), Sara Black (Jeffrey), Crissy Hibbard (Scott), Lisa Hunter (Bryan), and James “Bud” Thompson II (Kelsey); siblings, Susan Maisano (Dave) and David Cerminaro; grandchildren, Courtney, Jason, James, Jordan, Kelsey, Tori, Abigail, Christopher, Patrick, Talan, Connor, Bubba, and Addison; and great-granddaughter, Peyton.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 pm until 2 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm. Inurnment will be held privately.
