Lisa M. “Lee” “Aunt Sissy” Scarano, age 59, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Born in Newark, NJ on January 29, 1964, she was a daughter of Joseph T. Scarano and the late Madeline (Martin) Scarano. Lisa received her master’s degree from Neumann University and made her career in purchasing, distribution, and printing.
She was a strong supporter of the Police Unity Tour and was an avid fan of NASCAR, Formula One racing, Elvis, and the NY Giants. Lisa enjoyed surf fishing at Bethany Beach, watching The Wizard of Oz, and stopping by Wawa for a sweet treat with extra whipped cream. Every month, she looked forward to her lunch dates with Hens & Chicks.
In addition to her mother, Lisa was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Elliott; aunt, Doris McGlynn; uncles, Andrew Martin and Robert McGlynn, Sr.; and nephew, Matthew Scarano. She will be dearly missed by her life partner and best friend, Lisa Ann; father, Joseph Scarano (Carol); siblings, Tom (Betty), Chris, Martin (Jody), and Lee Michael (Kelly); aunts, DeeDee and Pat; cousin, Robert (Carla) and their daughters, Allyson and Sara; nieces and nephews, Katie, Austin (Gonzolo), Alec, Justin (Alyssa), Mason, and Griffin, in addition to Joe (Amanda), Stephanie, and McKenzie who were also her godchildren; great niece and nephew, Jordan and Joseph; and a host of very supportive friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 pm until 6 pm on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 6 pm. Interment will be held privately.
