Lorraine L. “Rainy” Grifantini

September 16, 1952 - October 23, 2019

          Lorraine L. “Rainy” Grifantini, age 67, of New Castle, DE, passed away at Christiana Hospital, on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

          Born in Chester, PA on September 16, 1952, she was the daughter of Dolores (Platt) Faverio and the late Louis Peter Faverio III.  Rainy worked as a property manager for Leon Weiner Associates in Wilmington, retiring after 32 years of dedicated service.

          A love of the outdoors, Rainy enjoyed the beach, sunflowers, listening to wind chimes and rides on the motorcycle.  She had a creative side and enjoyed arts and crafts and tattoos. Rainy adored animals and spent many hours volunteering with Faithful Friends. In her spare time, she would visit yard sales and flea markets.

          Rainy is survived by her mother, Dolores; loving husband of 32 years, Frank J. Grifantini; daughter, Victoria Grifantini (Steve Harmer) of Denver, CO; brothers, Wayne Faverio (Bonnie) of Bear and Pete Faverio (Sharon) of North East, MD; sister-in-law, Jean Foote of Middletown; nieces and nephews, Lauren Faverio, Maria Faverio, Peter Faverio V (Katie), Carol Taylor and Amber Milson; and many great nieces and nephews.

          A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 6:30 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 6:30 pm.  Interment will be held privately.

          In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rainy’s memory to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.

  • I am so sorry for the families loss! Lorraine was such a good person inside and out. She loved her family so much. I’ve had the pleasure of spending much of my child hood and early twenties hanging with Her niece Lauren and often Lorraine would come out with us! She was such a rock star! Later I became her hairdresser for a few years! Always stayed up with the latest trends! She rocked the purple and blue hair like no other! I love you Lorraine! You will be missed ❤️

  • Frank, Victoria and the entire Faverio family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Lynn. All of my memories of Lynn are from the Pot-Nets beach house. Sitting on the porch or on the beach with family. Lynn always had such a genuine smile and a care free spirit. Wishing you strength and peace during this hard time.
