Luis A. “Papo” Lopez-Diaz, age 62, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Born in Puerto Rico on June 14, 1958, he was a son of the late Rafael Lopez and Aurora Diaz. Papo worked as a truck driver for Cirillo Brothers. A man of faith, he could often be found listening to gospel music or reading the bible. Papo enjoyed working on cars, fishing and camping. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Papo was preceded in death by 7 siblings. He is survived by his wife, Debra A. (Jordan) Lopez; children, Luis A. Jordan (Allison Cocco) of Gates County, NC and Jessica C. Jordan (William Sturdivant) of New Castle; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and 5 grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Face masks will be required for all in attendance.
