Margaret (Peggy) Louise Mahaley
May 2, 1942 - April 28, 2025
Margaret (Peggy) Louise Mahaley, age 82, of Middletown, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2025.
Peggy was born in Smyrna, DE on May 2, 1942, the oldest daughter of the late Horace & Bessie Cole.
Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, with a heart of gold. Her life revolved around her family. She helped to raise 2 of her grandchildren and 2 of her great-grandchildren. Peggy enjoyed playing bingo, eating crabs and spending time with the family, especially during the summer.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 yrs, Goldie; daughter, Sandra Hadry; granddaughter, Deanna; sister, Joyce; and brother, Gary. She is survived her daughter, Phyllis LeCates; son, Steven Mahaley; brother, Gil (Brenda); and sisters, Gini, Kay & Bev (Tim); 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Monday May 5, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be held privately.

Gonna so without you , I didn’t realize how much you were going thru until I got the phone call you was in the hospital and I ran up to see you. I’m glad you loved the teddy bear we bought you you looked so beautiful , I hope you know I’m so proud that I had you for as my grandmother. My ONLY grandmother , I hope u know we’re all sad n .missing you so much. I talked to you everyday out loud. Over here in my apt. Alone , you was strongest woman I’ve ever met in my life. You never accepted no bullshit from us, I’m glad your reunited with pop pop now bc I know you two were long loved soul mates and can now tell my mom how much we’ve missed her for over 30 years .
