Margaret Roxanne “Peggy” Munro
August 15, 1961 - July 31, 2023
Margaret Roxanne “Peggy” Munro, age 61, of Newport, DE, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023.
Born in Kyoto, Japan on August 15, 1961, she was a daughter of the late George Ross and Margaret Elizabeth (Hawkins) Munro. Margaret worked as a loan officer at Credit Bureau Credit Union.
Margaret was a passionate animal lover, taking in many animals and setting up adoptions for them. She was a huge fan of all sports, especially baseball, hockey, and NASCAR, and never missed a chance to cheer on her beloved Chicago Cubs. Margaret loved spending her free time exploring Longwood Gardens, watching British comedy shows, listening to music, attending concerts, or dancing. She traveled as often as possible, one of her favorite destinations was to Canada to stay in cabins. Margaret also loved visiting Natural Bridge, VA, a town almost as beautiful as her. While on her trips, she would often go hiking to explore the area, she cared deeply about the environment. 20 years ago, Margaret was diagnosed with cancer that she bravely fought, often saying “I don’t have an expiration date on my foot.” She will always be remembered for her kind, generous, loving spirit, but also for her “no nonsense” personality. Margaret was a creative, artistic, yet frisky soul.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey J. De Potty; and brother, Ross Neal Munro. She is survived by her sisters, Jennifer Arwood of Texas and Janice Munro of Rome, Italy; special nieces and nephew, Kelly Bellom (Jeff), Ashley, Casey, and Heather and Dustin Arwood; 11 great nieces and nephews; her extended family in Texas whom she loved; caring neighbor, Hailey Alexis Sakowski, and others; and four special cats at home, Milo, Stella, Buddy, and Willow.
All services will be held privately.
