Maria Kymberly Tucker

Maria Kymberly Tucker, age 55, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 24, 1965, she was a daughter of Wayne Vaughn and Gwendolyn Harris-Montague. Maria graduated from the Delta School in Philadelphia, PA in 1983. During high school, she won several track and field trophies for running and was active in drama club. Maria was a member in good standing at Christ the Cornerstone Church in Bear, where she was also an Assistant Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Christmas drama production team. She was also a volunteer member of the Family Cares Team.
Maria had a special ministry; she would send inspirational messages every morning and evening to countless people. Her messages would share her love, edify, bless and express God’s love for everyone. Her audience came to expect their text messages from Maria to start and end their days on a good note. Her last morning message was: “But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:8”
Maria had a heart for animals, and she cared for her dogs as a mother would care for her children. She would often be heard speaking to Leo, her Bichon, and Khan, her German shepherd, as if they were people. She loved them and they loved her back. Maria adored flowers, all things pink and frosted cookies. She was truly a sweet spirit and so easy to love. Maria knew how to claim each blessing that was sent to her.
Maria was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frances Harris, John Harris, Hester Tucker, and Ernest Tucker and sister, Kim Montague-Ansley. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Shannon Montague and Angel Abdul-Matin (Robert); brothers, W. David Tucker (Ann Marie) and Scott Montague; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services and interment will be held privately.
