Marjorie Helen Raab

Marjorie Helen Raab, age 97, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Born and raised in Rotterdam, NY, just outside of Schenectady, on March 17, 1928, she was one of eleven children to the late Matthew D. and Catherine (Eno) Scheels. She and her husband, James, raised their two sons in Poughkeepsie NY. Following his passing in 2005, she stayed in NY for several years and later moved to DE to be closer to family.
Marj enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her two sons. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
An avid reader, Marj found great joy in volunteering at the Mid-Hudson Library in Poughkeepsie, where she shared her love of books with her community. She delighted in visiting local flea markets every weekend, always on the hunt for unique finds. Her home was filled with cherished collectibles and treasures.
In addition to her husband, Marj was preceded in death by her son, Steven Raab. She is survived by her son, James Raab and his wife, Linda; and many grandchildren/great grandchildren.
All services will be held privately.
