Mary L. Baer, age 87, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Born in Wilmington, DE on March 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Alice (Testerman) Hamm. Mary made her career as an office clerk at Chemical Bank, retiring in 1991. She was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert N. Baer; daughter, Donna Sheats; and granddaughter, Stacy Sheats. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Sheats (Steve); grandchildren, Kristan Sheats and Jeri Sheats; 2 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will be held privately in the cemetery.
