Michael J. “Mike” Sharpe

December 15, 1955 - February 7, 2020

           Michael J. “Mike” Sharpe, age 64, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020.

          Born in Wilmington, DE on December 15, 1955, he was a son of the late William and Nellie (Morris) Sharpe.  Mike worked as a detail man with Cumberland County Waste for 15 years.

          A fan of cooking, he enjoyed time spent feeding others at the St. Anthony’s Italian Club in New Castle.  Mike loved to make people laugh and spending time with his family.  In his spare time, he took pride in detailing cars.

          In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, James Sharpe; and former wife, Jean Sharpe.  He is survived by his wife, Joyce Beresford; siblings, Bob Sharpe (Barbara) of New Castle, Connie Morrell (Bob) of Cape Coral, FL, Raymond Sharpe (Barbara) of New Castle and Sharon Morris of Punta Gorda, FL; and 8 nieces, nephews and great nephews.

          A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 28, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.  A graveside service will follow in Glebe Cemetery, New Castle, DE.

          In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mike’s memory to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
